French Onion Soup is a taste of elegance that is simple to bring into your own home. With busy works days and cold winter nights, a hot bowl of French Onion soup is the perfect dinner solution. Be sure to use Mrs. Miller’s French Onion Soup base and Mrs. Miller’s Beef Soup Base to make your homemade soup perfection! On top of the rich yummy flavor; all of our soup bases are gluten free, and contain no added MSG.

Ingredients:
- 3 or 4 Large Vidalia Onions, sliced thin
- 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 4 Tablespoon Mrs. Miller’s French Onion Soup Base
- 4 Teaspoon Mrs. Miller’s Beef Soup Base
- 8 Cup Water
- 1/2 Cup Dry Red Wine
- 2 Tablespoon Flour
- 2 Thyme Sprigs
- 1 French Baguette, sliced and toasted
- Gruyere Cheese, sliced
- Fresh Cracked Pepper
Directions
Melt Butter in a large pot then add Onions, Thyme, Bay Leaves, Salt & Pepper. Cook until Onions are soft and tender.
Add Red Wine, bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer until it evaporates and onions are dry,
Discard Herbs then scant Flour over the Onion mixture, stir, and cook 10 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste.
Add Mrs. Miller’s Soup Bases and Water – simmer 10 more minutes.
Place soup in 4 oven proof crocks, top each with 1 slice French Baguette & 1 slice of Gruyere. Broil until Cheese is melted. Give a twist of Fresh Cracked Pepper and serve piping hot.
